Jedi/Sith Holocrons

Devices 220px-Odan-Urr_SithHolocron

Holocrons are used by Jedi and Sith alike to record lessons and other data to be passed down through the generations of the orders. These are especially useful when there is a gap between generations, such as when the Jedi or Sith go to or past the brink of extinction. A force sensistive person can find a holocron and use it to learn the ways of whatever order the holocron belongs to, thus bringing about its ressurection. Whoever makes the Holocron in question usually gives, in addition to lessons on how to use powers and about the ways of the order, accounts of battles and other events they had witnessed, as well as how they felt and what they thought at the time, and their hindsight veiws of the events. Within each holocron is a Gatekeeper, or holographic image of whoever made the holocron, which is in truth the concience of the maker. The gatekeeper obeys the student in regards to the contents of the holocron, such as what to access. Jedi gatekeepers restrict certain content of the holocron until the student is truly ready to see and learn from them, but Sith gatekeepers are more open, letting the student learn whatever he/she wants even if he/she isn't ready. Sith holocrons also have inscriptions on them that are infused with dark-side energy, making Jedi nauseated and somtimes even nearly fataly sick.
